Our Values

As a school we have identified a set of core values which help guide our thinking in everything we do.  These are kindness, friendship, cooperation, responsibility, happiness, positivity, resilience, empathy, confidence, self-belief, respect and honesty.  Through exploring these values, we help the children to acquire a solid foundation on which to base their future actions, decisions and judgements, so that they may become happy, fulfilled individuals who are prepared for the next stage of education and able to make a positive contribution to society.

Each of the values strand through the various aspects of day-to-day life, are displayed and exemplified around the school  and are referred to and discussed regularly.  Additionally, a focus value is identified each half-term, as follows, and is promoted and explored through assemblies, in class and around school.  

We believe that Values Based Education will:

• Encourage all of us to be the best that we can be.
• Provide a moral framework.
• Encourage reflective and ethical thinking.
• Help us to better understand and articulate the impact our behaviour can have on our friends, our school and our community.
• Strengthen our sense of belonging.
